I remember the day that I met Natalie. It was 330pm on a Friday and I was thinking about closing up shop early. Business had been really quiet and I was feeling like there was no point in being open, then Natalie walked in the door. My first thought was, "oh boy, what is she selling?"
But I realized very quickly that Natalie was not trying to sell me something, instead she was offering me an opportunity. She explained to me what ShopNorthVancouver was all about and how it could assist me in driving our business forward. We had revamped our website and had done mailers but we just weren't reaching our target market. The phone wasn't ringing and we had no real "Google positioning".
She took the time to thoroughly explain the history of Shop Local; how it has brought the small business community together in other areas and how, with the assistance of a personal account manager, we could see our "Google positioning" organically rise by linking things like our market place items with our website and establishing a Facebook and Twitter page that would be managed and fed daily by my account manager, with my industry related updates.
Natalie's passion and dedication to building SNV into a successful service for local small businesses to speak directly to our community was evident from the begining and is what inspired me to get involved and back this idea completely.
Since joining ShopNorthVancouver, I continually hear now from new potential customers that they found us online. And Natalie still takes the time to pop in and check in with me; making sure I am up to date and taking advantage of any new tools being offered on SNV.
